Writer, Mentor, and Editor

Hi, I’m Susannah. I’m an English writer based in Mexico. Mexico has been my beloved home for over thirteen years. I’ve lived in Oaxaca, Mexico City, on the coast in Nayarit and now I live in the magical, mountain town of Tepoztlán. Each of these places has been so rich with stories to tell.

My writing, about everything from Mexican history and anthropology to Mexican food and travel destinations and much more, has been published by BBC Travel, Condé Nast Traveler, CNN, The Independent UK and Afar among others.

I now dedicate most of my time to writing fiction and mentoring new and established writers, supporting them in moving forward with their writing projects, gaining confidence and meeting themselves on the page.

I also offer developmental editing and have a fortnightly newsletter, Write As You Are, where I share my reflections on writing and the writing life.
